OriGlam 6pcs Dual-End Metal Spudger Set Review: Best Affordable Pry Tool Kit for General Repair

Kaisi dual-ended metal spudger with anti-slip grip, used for opening electronic devices in repair work.

Quick Verdict

  • Who it’s for: Budget-Conscious Makers who need leverage prying and manipulating small assemblies and parts.
  • What it does best: Metal prying ends with rubberized grip giving it the best advantages of both comfort and utility.
  • What to watch out for: Potentially wasteful as I find you don’t need as many different prying tool types as most of these type of kits include.

Overview

The OriGlam Metal Spudger Set is a hand tools designed for prying and manipulating small assemblies and connectors . In the Under $10 price range, this tool aims to have a uniquely shaped solution to each of your various potential use cases.

After owning two sets for over 5 years now, the OriGlam Metal Spudger Set has became a valuable prying tool that I keep in every tool loadout I carry (the name printed on the side doesn’t always match the brand name but in my experience the tools are identical each time I order them).

Key Features

  • Build quality – Very sturdy, polished surfaces.
  • Grip comfort – No complaints, grippy rubber over plastic handle.
  • Precision – 6 different pry tools to choose from for your specific task.
  • Durability – 5 years and no breaks or damages to report.
  • Storage case – Junk, I keep the individual spudgers and tossed the plastic sleeve.
  • Specific Shapes – Unlimited use cases.

Performance & Accuracy

Many end shapes to choose from for your prying needs. Some are quite sharp and some are more dull and rounded or dished out in the middle. Personally for my uses I tend to favor the blue handle spudger. I only reach for the others if I cant find one of my blue ones.

Material quality

No damages or breaking of the tips nor handles to report. The handles have survived being left in indoor tool bags and boxes as well as non-climate controlled outdoor Michigan temperatures in toolboxes just fine. The rubber on the handles has not degraded and gone tacky as so many things do over time (I will update this review if they do degrade).

Real-World Use Testing

I primarily use this kit for unsnapping small electronics connectors, removing 3d printed supports, and prying open small electronic enclosure and project boxes. These spudgers make it nice to always have the right shape on hand incase you have a strange use case or the task at hand requires a unique shape to fit. I do not have any experience with removing screens from phones or tablets with these tools as many people own these for but I would be very careful if that is your intended use case as some of these spudgers are quite sharp and being metal would be prone to gouging or scratching a screen. That might be the only use case where I would recommend a plastic spudger over these metal ones.

Pros and Cons

Final Verdict

Bottom Line: OriGlam Metal Spudger Set is my current preferred and first choice for all sorts of general prying and removal tasks. If you are buying a spudger specifically for device screen removal I would caution you to look at plastic tools so you do not accidently scratch the screen. For every other use I don’t believe you can go wrong by having a few of these spudgers in your toolkit.

Buy if: You need a general prying tool and value strong and durable metal tools.

Skip if: You’re looking for a spudger for safely opening glass screens or need specifically to only work on high end electronics.
